St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Needs Your Help...

Infant/Pediatric Security System
This new system will provide state-of-the-art security and monitoring for infants and children receiving care at the hospital. Each child will receive an ankle band or umbilical clamp that is equipped with an electronic sensor. If the child gets too close to the exit of a designated OB or pediatric area, an alarm will sound, alerting staff of a potential security breach. The goal of this project is to proactively provide patients with the highest level of security possible while they are treated at SECH. The added peace of mind provided by an infant/pediatric security system will allow parents and staff to focus more fully on patient care and the promotion of healing for the youngest, and often most vulnerable, patients. The new security system being proposed will not replace procedural safety measures but will utilize technology to “back up” established procedures to further deter potential abductors. As a not-for-profit operation, equipment upgrades such as this are difficult, if not impossible, to obtain without generous philanthropic support from our community.

Hospice
Hospice is a set of services that we may all need one day – if not for ourselves, for someone we love. Mercy Hospice at St. Elizabeth is not a place but a concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments. Our Hospice program is not about dying, it is about living with respect and dignity, and without pain. It is about living life to its fullest, including the final moment. No patient is ever turned away from Hospice due to inability to pay. Your donation means so much in allowing us to continue this valuable ministry to the community.

Where the Need is Greatest
Each day, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital touches the lives of people of all ages. Extending compassionate care to everyone in need regardless of their ability to pay is the driving objective of St. Elizabeth. Just within the last fiscal year the hospital provided close to $3 million in “charity care” that was not reimbursed from other sources. We could not provide compassionate care to all of our citizens without the generous support our faithful donors. You can make a real difference – you not only impact lives today, but your support can have a lasting impact into the future.
