The Chris Lawley Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Students

The Chris Lawley Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Students was established in memory of Chris Lawley, R.N., longtime employee of St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. This is a $1,500 annual scholarship. A goal of the program is to support nursing students who are from Tehama County at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital or another health care facility. The scholarship was established through a one-time gift to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and was first awarded in 2011. Additional gifts from the community are welcomed by making a donation to: Mercy Foundation North, Attention: The Chris Lawley Memorial Scholarship. 

Eligibility

1. Students enrolled in at least the second year of a Registered Nursing education program at a community college or four-year accredited college or university;

2. Cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA;

3. Demonstrated quality involvement with others via work, school, family or in the community; and 

4. Be willing to agree that upon achievment of a nursing degree, the scholarship recipient will intend to work in a nursing capacity in the healthcare industry and may elect to work in Tehama County if selected for a suitable position at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital or another healthcare facility.
