Pediatrics Department Makeover a Hit with Kids & Doctors
Dr. Sharon Joo knew Mercy Medical Center’s Pediatrics Department could treat its little patients in the most kid-friendly way possible and, thanks to generous donors, she was right.
The successful $450,000 campaign provided a dozen cardiac monitors, a nursing station monitor, and an interior makeover that created a more healing atmosphere
with new flooring, lighting, paint, and child-friendly graphics.
“The Pediatrics Department is extremely grateful for the tremendous love and care we have received from the community,” said Dr. Joo, a pediatrician and director of the pediatric hospitalist program. “We are now better equipped with the tools and technology that will help move our patients from the emergency room to the pediatrics unit more quickly and provide the higher level of care that allows more children to stay in our hospital and community,” she said. 
