Mt. Shasta Auxiliary Golf Tournament
Swing into Spring
Thirty-one teams hit the Mt. Shasta Golf Resort for the 13th annual Mercy Mt. Shasta Auxiliary's Swing into Spring Golf Tournament on May 16. The tournament raises funds to benefit Mercy Mt. Shasta's transportation system which provides free transportation to residents of Siskiyou County to the hospital, outlying clinics, and Mercy affiliated physicians' offices. The system is completely operated by volunteers and is the only transportation system of its kind in Siskiyou County. Last year, volunteers traveled over 43,000 miles using over 3,000 gallons of fuel! This year, the tournament grossed $28,000. An additional $25,000 of prizes were donated by businesses and community members for a community drawing and golfers' drawing.
