Rotary Clubs Donate $7,000 for Digital Mammography

The Rotary Club of Mt. Shasta presented Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta with a $4,000 donation towards the hospital’s digital mammography upgrade. Al Schoenstein, Mt. Shasta Rotary Club President, presented the donation to Alisa Johnson, Development Officer at Mercy Foundation North. Also attending the check presentation was Ted Palfini, club treasurer. Schoenstein commented that Rotary recognizes the benefit of having digital mammography equipment at Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta and was happy to make the donation.
Other Rotary Clubs in the area were supportive of the campaign as well. The Rotary Club of Dunsmuir contributed $2,000 to the project while the Rotary Club of Weed gifted $1,000. The Southern Siskiyou County Rotary Clubs donated a grant total of $7,000 toward making this project a reality.
“I’d like to thank all three Rotary Clubs for their support with the digital mammography equipment,” said Alisa Johnson. “This equipment will benefit hundreds of women in our community and in the surrounding area and we are so grateful to our many supporters for their commitment to serving the needs of our patients who are often our friends and neighbors.”
