St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Needs Your Help...

Hospice
Hospice is a set of services that we may all need one day – if not for ourselves, for someone we love. Mercy Hospice at St. Elizabeth is not a place but a concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments. Our Hospice program is not about dying, it is about living with respect and dignity, and without pain. It is about living life to its fullest, including the final moment. No patient is ever turned away from Hospice due to inability to pay. Your donation means so much in allowing us to continue this valuable ministry to the community.

Where the Need is Greatest
Each day, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital touches the lives of people of all ages. Extending compassionate care to everyone in need regardless of their ability to pay is the driving objective of St. Elizabeth. Just within the last fiscal year the hospital provided close to $3 million in “charity care” that was not reimbursed from other sources. We could not provide compassionate care to all of our citizens without the generous support our faithful donors. You can make a real difference – you not only impact lives today, but your support can have a lasting impact into the future.

Cardiac Care Equipment
Mercy Foundation North asks for your support for a fundraising effort to benefit Cardiac Care at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.
We are seeking to raise $92,000 to purchase important patient care equipment:

• Two new ECG/EKG machines to monitor patient heart rhythms and identify potential problems.
• Computer software to enable our physicians to read and interpret EKG reports remotely via the internet.
• Cardiac output module to monitor heart function and alert our nursing staff if a problem arises.
• New patient bed for ICU/CCU that weighs patients and is compatible with patient lifts.

This equipment will allow patients with certain cardiac symptoms to stay close to home at St. Elizabeth. With careful observation and the ability to communicate test results to our Cardiologist via the internet, we can ensure that our cardiac patients are closely monitored and quickly transferred to a regional cardiac care hospital if necessary.
