Ways to Give - One-time Gifts

How You Can Make a Difference With Just One Gift

Helping those in need in your community can lead to unparalleled personal and emotional fulfillment. There are as many different ways to support the works of Mercy as there are needs for your support. Your contribution will not only assist us in meeting the needs of today but will also strenghthen our ability to serve those touched by Mercy programs and services into the future.

Gift of Cash
This is the easiest way to give and allows you to deduct the amount of the gift for income tax purposes for the year in which you make the contribution. Multi-year financial pledges are also an option to make a gift of considerable value more attainable for the donor.

Gifts of Appreciated Stock
Giving stock can help combine your charitable giving goals with effective estate and financial planning. By giving appreciated stock to Mercy Foundation North, you can avoid capital gains taxes that would be due as a result of its sale. In this way, you can turn stock market gains into a community investment to provide care for those in greatest need.

Securities
Gifts of marketable securities can afford donors considerable tax advantages. In most cases, the full market value of the stock can be deducted as a charitable contribution. For additional information on making a gift in this way, please contact our office at 530.247.3424.

Matching Gifts
If you work for a company that has a matching gift program, you may double the impact of your gift. Many companies have these programs and we encourage you to check with yours. Matching gifts can make a dramatic impact on patient care.

In-Kind Gifts
A non-cash gift, also called an "in-kind" gift, is a non-monetary contribution of equipment, supplies, corporate services/facilities, professional services, or other property that will benefit the works of Mercy programs and services. In-kind gifts are tax-deductible. Please contact Mercy Foundation North to learn if the proposed non-cash contribtution would be appropriate for Mercy.

(Gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.)
